On 28 January 2011, Enhesa organised an environmental seminar on global chemical and product regulations in Japan in cooperation with NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting. The seminar was sponsored by the Embassy of Belgium Ministry of the Brussels-Capital Region, and it was hosted at the newly renovated Embassy of Belgium in Tokyo. The seminar was opened by the Belgian Ambassador, and Enhesa’s Managing Director Thierry Dumortier introduced the historical background and fast-moving development of global regulations on chemical products and electric and electronics equipment (EEE). Yuko Dvorak-Miyata, Enhesa’s Regional Manager for Asia Pacific region, added some of the specific regulatory updates in South America, EU neighboring countries and India. NTT Data provided an overview of developments in Japan and China. The seminar was concluded with the organisers’ insights on how companies with multinational operations can assure product compliance globally by integrating a regulatory tracking system. The seminar was attended by 50 participants from the chemical and EEE industries, which nearly filled the Thomas Cornelius Hall of Amenities of the Embassy.
